Bog Dog Blog 21st July 2008

I am sorry the news is a bit late this week, I‘m having a new bedroom fitted and the house is in chaos.

At the East of England Championship Dog Show IWS were judged by Mr Gordon Haran, there was an entry of 38 with nine being absent on the day, he awarded the Dog CC, Best Puppy and Best of Breed to Antdela Oleander owned by Ant Andrews, Reserve Dog CC was Sh Ch Zanfi Elder owned by Liz Waters, Bitch CC was Cuboglach West Coast Lady owned by Martyn Ford and Reserve Bitch CC was Antdela Arabella again owned by Ant Andrews

At the weekend  the IWSA held their Championship Dog Show and Showcase Day at Tollerton, Nottingham  and it was very nice to see so many overseas visitors and exhibitors  including, Sue Tapp from the USA, Penni  Smith from Australia,  Jan Davis from South Africa,  Seidi Linnavuori  from Finland and Anji Mets from Holland .It was also very nice to see Keith Attwood at the show he seems to be recovering  from his recent heart attack well, he was his usual cheeky and happy self !

Chris Bexon the judge had an entry of 48 dogs but there were 18 absentees. He awarded the Dog CC to Sh Ch Zanfi Ego owned by Liz Waters, Reserve Dog CC was Am Ch/Sh Ch  Castlehill’s Quantum Leap for Fynder owned by Pepi Barrington, Sue Tapp and Penni Smith. Bitch CC was Sh Ch Zanfi Tabitha owned by Nick Waters, Reserve Bitch CC was Ch Foulby Fired Up owned by Judith Carruthers and Angela Wiliams. Best in Show was Sh C Zanfi Ego, Reserve Best in Show was Sh Ch Zanfi Tabitha and Best Puppy was Antdel Oleander owned by Ant Andrews. Congratulations to all and many thanks to all of you who donated and dug deep into your pockets when I came around selling raffle tickets.

The following day was well attended, we  met some new members, as well as visitors who just came along to see the breed, the day started with an antiques talk and an exhibition of dog, especially IWS memorabilia with a interesting talk by one of our members Chris Hinch. After lunch, Janice Wakerley gave a talk and demonstration of grooming and trimming an IWS, and then we had a fun rally where all the dogs could take part  and the winner was Lisa Walker with Malanis Dudley.

Sara Box and Darren Wilson who have IWS’s and have been members of the Association for a few years now are tying the knot and getting married on the 2nd  of August I am sure that  those of you who know them will join me in wishing them a happy day and a long married life together .

I have had some more e-mails saying how you are enjoying the blog so keep your news and stories coming in. After saying that the next blog could be a bit later as it is time for me to have another overnight stay in hospital for some more treatment.
