News from Debbie Robinson about the recent IWS mingle which took place on Sunday 5th October 2008. The weather
was very wet but this did not deter those who attended, indeed Francis Chapman drove down from York to attend, those present
enjoyed the autumn beauty of Northaw Great Wood, the muddy streams, rolling in the leaves indeed doing the usual IWS thing
of enjoying themselves, Chris & Mick McDonagh had found a lovely friendly pub called the Two Brewers for lunch.
Those who attended the mingle have requested that they have a seaside walk next time so Debbie is hoping to arrange
the next one at West Wittering next February. I will let you know details nearer the time, the walks are open to everyone,
and you do not need an invitation to attend.
Chris Attwood has been doing well with her Chinese Crested Puppy,
this week at the Midland Counties Canine Society he gained 1st in the puppy dog class from an entry of 15,in the 27
years I have been going to Dog Shows I cannot remember ever seeing 15 entries in an IWS puppy class, if
anybody out there does know differently, please let me know.
Because of the success of the previous Year Books,
it has been decided that there will be a sub-committee this year. Brenda Triffitt will be liasing with the printers and the
first proof reading will take place before the information goes to the printers. We will be endeavouring to get the book to
members by the AGM but this can only be done with your assistance, we have therefore brought the closing date for receipt
of advertisements to the 7th January 2009 . Any copy received after this date cannot be published.
I
shall be doing a mailing in the next two weeks, which will include the latest Newsletter together with details regarding advertising
in the 2008 edition of the Year Book, and membership renewal forms
Another date for your diary, the IWSA is holding
a Seminar on Sunday 23rd November, more details to follow.
