Bog Dog Blog 16th November 2008

Last weekend at Gundog Breeds of Scotland Championship Show, IWS had classes but no CC’s on offer, unfortunately only one exhibitor had entered  two bitches, therefore Best Dog and Reserve Best Dog  Best Puppy and  Best Veteran  were not awarded Best Bitch was Malanis Betts owned by Hannah Cooper, Reserve Best Bitch was not awarded, the Judge was Ernie Lockett.

Discover dogs was held last week-end at Earls Court in London Marion Kong organised the IWS booth and the breed was represented  on Saturday by Judy Hempstead with  Zac and Caz, Steve Lockey with Hebbie ,John Lewis with Keeva and Mick McDonagh with Malachy. On Sunday Marion with Lola and Liberty and Sally Molineaux with Raffles took over, they were very  busy  both days and a lot of people were interested in the health  issues in the breed  or said that they liked the Irish Water Spaniels  because they looked like a proper dog that had not been messed about with too much. Marion and Liberty were also part of Richard Curtis’s heelwork to music training demo where they had to demonstrate how to teach some basic moves and then how to put them together to start developing a routine.  Many thanks to all who gave their time over the weekend. and we must not forget the dogs, I know from going to Discover Dogs for many years how tiring it is for both humans and dogs .

Jaki Porter would like to thank members who have sent a donation since last weekend. Because of the cost involved Jaki is looking to arrange a “sponsored something”, like a sponsored dog walk with some kind of twist and she would like any ideas you might have to make it different – email suggestions to jaki@jaki.com.

I posted the mailing out last Wednesday, so it should be with you all soon, you should have eight pieces of paper in the envelope, anything, if you do not receive yours in the next week, let me know.

One of the items sent was a Membership Form, if you usually pay your subscriptions by Standing Order you need only to send the form back.

Keep the news coming
