Bog Dog Blog 17th January, 2009

News from Hazel Walker that Rio (Malanis Cian at Ameysford) went Group 3 at the recent Yeovil CS Show in December, winning from AVNSC Gundog. Rio is Hazel’s first IWS and he has been winning well in the show ring.

Pat Wake has kindly forwarded news from Ireland that the IWSC are putting on an extra Ch Show as part of the celebrations for the European Winners Show, it is on Friday 29th May they are holding the show at Cloghran, the IKC’s Showground just outside Dublin, which is also to be the campsite for the weekend, the judge is Con Hackett. who shows Irish Terriers, and is a great enthusiast of the Irish Breeds and also judges the Gundog Groups.

Lesley and Rob Wormleighton’s new adventure in Slovenia  has had an hic-cup, recently Lesley had
not been feeling well and thought she had contracted the flu, when things did not improve she went to the Doctors and was referred to hospital, unfortunately she has to have an operation to have a new valve in her heart. I am sure you will all join me in wishing the operation to be a success and to wish Lesley a speedy recovery.

Don has still not finished decorating yet, so if I take longer than usual to answer any e-mails I apologise, he has assured me that it will be finished by next week-end!! All the stuff from the room in question is in the Dining Room, I have been sorting through to find out what I can get rid of and what to keep, during which I have found all my old Year Books and reading through them again I find that our Secretary Chris Attwood has completed over 25 years in the job. I am sure that you all would like me to thank her on your behalf for all the time, effort and dedication that she has put in on behalf of the Irish Water Spaniel Association. Finding this information also made me realize that I have been Treasurer for nearly 20 years now.

News from Ant Andrews, last weekend  at Stoke on Trent & District Gundog Club Show IWS were judged by Mrs H Cohen , BOB was Ollie (Antdela  Oleander) owned by Ant and RBOB was Holbain Muddy Duck owned by Stuart & Pauline Furber. Ollie went on to win Reserve Best in show under Judge Sandra Marshall

Last week I mentioned news about Boston Championship Show when I reported  the victory of Vickie Parkers dog, I must apologise to Vickie, many  years  ago she was know as Vickie Parker and I still think of her with that name, just to clarify things she is now known   as Vickie  Norman-Massa.
