Sorry for the blog being a bit late this week, I have been in Lincolnshire for the Open Show Don &
I had a lovely time staying with Chris and Keith.
The Open Show proved quite eventful, the weather was terrible,
we arrived at the venue to find the doors locked, after a telephone call, Roger went to collect the keys to allow us to get
into the hall, I am pleased to say there was a nice size modern kitchen but we could not find any frying pans for cooking
the bacon for the bacon butties and no saucepans to cook the judges lunch, after another phone call, the person responsible
for letting the hall brought their own utensils for us to use, during this hectic start to the day, some of the exhibitors
kindly “mucked in to help , many thanks to you all.
There was an entry of 36 dogs but unfortunately there
were 8 absentee on the day, our Judge was Mrs Daphne Bailey (Daelyb) and Best Dog and Best in Show was ShCh Antdela Oleander
owned by Ant Andrews, Reserve Best Dog was Holbain Muddy Duck, owned by Pauline and Stuart Furber and Ian and Angie Biggs,
Best Bitch and Reserve Best in Show was Malanis Cara owned by Christine Bannister, Reserve Best Bitch was Doonbeg
Faith in Dreams owned by Chris and Keith Attwood, Best Puppy was Malanis Tillymint owned by Hannah Cooper. The committee
would like to thank all members who supported the show coming from afar away as Scotland in the North and Brighton in the
South, several journeys taking nearly three times longer than usual.
Last week-end was Midland Counties Canine
Society Championship Dog Show, we did not have classes but in AVNSC Ant Andrews and Sh Ch Antdela Oleander (Ollie) won Reserve
Best Dog.
Ant and Ollie took part in the Contest of Champions on Saturday 31st October and I am pleased to say that they
made the cut for the final twelve, this is the first time that an IWS has qualified for this event, congratulations to you
both.
I would like to thank those of you who have e-mailed to thank me for the work I have
done over the past years on the Year Book, it was very kind of you, and it is nice to know that you appreciate it.
The seminar schedule for November 22nd is under subscribed at the moment , if you would like to attend please contact Chris
Attwood as soon as possible, if we do not get enough candidates, the event will have to be cancelled.
Thank
you for the news, keep it coming.
