Bog Dog Blog 20th June 2010
It has been brought to my attention
that there are two advertisements on the internet at the moment which I think members, particularly IWS breeders should be
aware of, the first is an advert for a three year old bitch which has been spayed being sold for £650 in the Stoke on
Trent area due to her owners being unemployed , as any breeder who is a members of the Association agrees
to be bound by the Association’s Code of Conduct could I ask you if you think it is one you have bred to contact the
person concerned regarding this bitches welfare. The second advert is for 2 Dogs and 2 Bitches in Hampshire, they are advertised as WATERDORS the dam being an IWS
and the sire a black working Labrador so any breeder who thinks they may have sold this bitch to someone inHampshire, perhaps
you would like to contact the person to whom you sold it to check if the bitch you bred is okay as it is being used for cross
breeding. The first advert is on the Prekloved site and the second advert is on the Epups site. Keep the news coming Jean 0149478

Just a reminder that the entries for
the IWSA Championship Show close this week-end, as the Judge is coming from Sweden it would be nice if as many of you as possible
can enter so the judge has a variety of dogs to go over. At the recent Three Counties Championship Dog Show we did not have any classes but in AVNSC Sh Ch
Antdela Oleander (Ollie) owned by Ant Andrews won Best Dog and Best of Breed and Antdela Lucianna (AI) went Best Bitch under
Andrew Brace and then went on to win the Junior Stakes under Mrs Sue Garner and the Yearling Stakes under Mr G Davies., Lucie
is also owned by Ant. Keep the news coming Jean 01494783599/07941830666 E—mail jean.gomm@ntlworld.com

Bog Dog Blog 7th June 2010
I am pleased to say that Chris has had
her operation and is now back at home re-couperating, she is very sore and in a lot of pain but glad that the op’s been
finally done, she will be in a sling for 6 weeks and unable to use her right arm, but I am sure that she will soon learn to
drink the red wine with her left hand, seriously though I am sure you will all join me in wishing her a speedy recovery. Another member who is in hospital is Charlotte
Wakerley, she had an accident a few days ago involving her new horse, she has broken her arm, hip and has also damaged her
legs, she is expected to be in hospital for quite a while here’s hoping you will be back home as soon as possible. News from Lin and Paul Bradley that their new
puppy Antdela Toffee Crisp (Genghis) is having a fabulous start to his show career, following on from his susscess at the
Bath Show, they took him to the Taunton Show which was held at the Bath & West Showground where he won AVNSC Gundog Puppy
then went on to win Group 2 in the Gundog Puppy Group, I am afraid I do not know who the judges were. Southern Counties Canine Association
Chamionship Show took place last weekend we did not have classes but 3 were entered in AVNSC Gundog , they were judged by
Mrs Patsy Hollings, there was an entry of 48 with 9 being absent on the day Antdela Toffee Crisp continued
his winning ways by taking the puppy dog class then winning RBD, Antdela Aero in Koolwaters owned by Ms
T Mould & Mr Bird gained a Res in the Puppy Bitch Class and Malanis Tia at Grakar owned by Karen, Graham and Zoe Stirk
won the Junior Bitch Class,Antdela Toffee Crisp also gained 3rd place in the Proplan Dog Stakes. , well done to
you all. Yesterday
the IWS walk around the last of the summer wine country in Yorkshire took place, Don and I were hoping to attend but the Campervan
decided otherwise, trouble with the gearbox, we have got to get it fixed before Blackpool Show at the end
of the month, I have spoken to the orgainizers Sandra and David Rawinlinson and I have had a couple of
phone calls from members who were present, the weather on the day started with some rain but got better as the day went on,
this made it better for the dogs and owners who took part, not too hot, I understand that it was well attended, indeed some
members travelled from afar away as Hampshire and Surrey, making a week-end of it, they found a dog friendly pub during the
walk where they could have a rest, coffee or something slightly stronger ,and finished up at the Huntmans Inn Holmfirth where
they had the use of a function room which led onto a terrace where they had a three course lunch , I understand that the dogs
were allowed into the Inn if the owners wished but most of them crashed out asleep in their owners cars. The walk was led
by David Rawlinson and Ant Andrews was at the rear keeping a lookout for any straglers, I am pleased to say that Ant was not
called upon in his capacity as First Aider, Allison McNaught and several other members took some photographs so a summary
and some photographs will appear in the next edition of Topknot. Members present donated £60 for the IWSA Welfard Fund. Keep the news coming Jean 01494 783599/07941830666 E-mail jean.gomm@ntlworld.com

Chris Attwood will be at long last going into hospital next week to have her
operation on her shoulder next Friday, then the hard work will start for her, she will have to have a arm and shoulder strapped
in a sling for at least six weeks, I know you will want to join me in sending her best wishes for a successful outcome to
her surgery. I understand from
Sandra Rawlinson that she has had a very good response to the “walk around the last of the summer wine country”
next Sunday, in fact because of the numbers who intend taking part the owners of the Huntsman Inn have given the Association
a function room which leads onto a nice patio in which the dinner will now take place. On some of the walk the dogs will have
to be on a lead as there are lots of baby lambs around but there will be places where they can run free, anway David and Sandra
will be there to greet you all and to give you the details. There will be a collection with the proceeds going to the IWSA
Welfare Fund. All owners must be responsible for their dogs. Anyone who still wishes to book lunch please
let Sandra know so she in turn can let the Chef know how many meals are required. This weekend is the Bath Championship Dog Showm IWS had
classes but no CC’s were on offer the breed classes were judged by Mr A Allen he had an entry of
10 with 1 being absent on the day, Best Dog and Best of Breed was Sh Ch Antdela Oleander Sh.CM owned by
Ant Andrews, Reserve Best Dog and Best Puppy was Malinis Sandor by Glenderry owned by Vickie Norman-Massa, Best Bitch was
Malanis Tia at Graker owned by Karen, Graham and Zoe Stirk and Reserve Best Bitch was Malanis Cara owned by Christine Bannister.
At the show, Lyn and Paul Bradley were showing their new puppy, Antdela Toffee Crisp, (Genghis) he finished second in the
breed class but they had entered him in the Proplan Minor Puppy Stakes under Mr Graham Hill and I am pleased to learn that
he won the class and then went on to be best overall on the day, all this at the tender age of 6 months and 3 days, congratulations
to them all. I had an e-mail from
Christine Bannister, who fullfilled her first judging appointment this weekend at the Shropshire Gundog Society Open Show
she found her BOB and BP in Malanis Sandor by Glenderry owned by Vickie Norman-Massa, RBOB was Zanfi Hurricane over Onmin
owned by Mr & Mrs Grocott, she was delighted when the Pie as Vickie calls him went on to win Best In Show and Best Puppy
in Show under judge Daphne Bailey. Keep
