At the recent South Wales Kennel Association
Championship Show, IWS’S did not have CC’s on offer but there were 5 dogs
and 3 bitches for the two judges to go over, Best Dog and Best of Breed was ShCh Antdela Oleander owned by Ant Andrews, Reserve
Best Dog was SHCh/AmCH Whistlestop’s Elements of Magic owned by Judith Carruthers and Coleen McDaniel, Best Bitch was
Fynder Purple Sage at Leonardston owned by Christine and David Smith and Reserve Best Bitch was Malanis Daisy owned by Hannah
Cooper.The SWKA decided to give us two judges, Phillip Langdon for the dogs and Mrs D Hammond for the bitches, this is most
unusual, in fact I think I am right in saying that in the 30 years that I have had the breed this is the first time that it
has happened, if I am wrong I am sure someone will tell me!
At the Gundog Society of Wales Championship Show held this week again the breed did not have any CC’s
on offer but there was an entry of 11 with 1 being absent for the Judge Ms M Sargent to go over, Best Dog and Best of Breed
was Sh Ch Antdela Oleander SHCM owned by Ant Andrews, Reserve Best Dog was Sh Ch /Am Ch Whistlestop’s Elements of Magic
owned by Judith Carruthers and Coleen McDaniel Best Bitch was Sh Ch Cuboglach West Coast Lady owned by Martyn Ford, Reserve
Best Bitch was Fynder Purple Sage at Leonardston owned by Christine and David Smith and Best Puppy was Malanis Daisy owned
by Hannah Cooper.
The entries for the Association Open Show at
Tollerton, Nottingham have now closed, the Judge is Mrs Judith Carruthers, we hope that as many of you as possible will come
along and support the show.

The IWSA recently held a very successful training day at Clumber Park in Nottinghamshire,
it was well attended with members attending from all parts of the UK. The trainers, both of whom work their dogs, were David
Rawlinson and Harry Nelson and Sue McCafferty was the examiner for the Good Citizens Awards, congratulations to the eight
dogs who gained their Bronze Award. Later in the day, the dogs took part in some light hearted fun classes as well as taking
part in a short agility competition. A small raffle was held and one of our members, Mr & Mrs Sowden kindly made some
cakes which were also sold with the proceeds going to the Association. A lot of interest was shown by the general public who
stopped to watch the proceedings and enquire what breed of dog they were.
At the recent Belfast
Championship Dog Show the Judge for IWS was Mr Harry Nelson from England, there was an entry of seven, three being from England.
Dog CC and Best of Breed was Sh Ch/AMCH Whistlestop’s Elements of Magic (Merlin) owned by Judith Carruthers in the UK
and Coleen McDaniel in the USA. Reserve Dog CC was Ir ChFynder On Shifting Ground owned in Ireland by Jo Caulfield and JoanneFurlong,
the Bitch CC, her first was won by Weemaes Brown Sugar owned by Fraser & Julie McCallum, Reserve Bitch CC and Best Puppy
was Gatewood The Curra Belle owned by Emer Mooney. Merlin went on to win the GUNDOG GROUP UNDER Judge Mrs Pat Rhodes.

2 under Judge Mrs Aidine Howes.
Our Buddy (Doonbeg Al Moughal at Chessrose is celebrating his 9th
Birthday today, Daisy not to be outdone will be two years old tomorrow.
I must apologise for the
lack of notes recently, we have changed our old Campervan for another old but bigger one so we have been away a lot, making
the most of the year before winter arrives.
