At the recent South Wales Kennel Association  Championship Show, IWS’S  did not have CC’s on offer but there were 5 dogs and 3 bitches for the two judges to go over, Best Dog and Best of Breed was ShCh Antdela Oleander owned by Ant Andrews, Reserve Best Dog was SHCh/AmCH Whistlestop’s Elements of Magic owned by Judith Carruthers and Coleen McDaniel, Best Bitch was Fynder Purple Sage at Leonardston owned by Christine and David Smith and Reserve Best Bitch was Malanis Daisy owned by Hannah Cooper. The SWKA decided to give us two judges, Phillip Langdon for the dogs and Mrs D Hammond for the bitches, this is most unusual, in fact I think I am right in saying that in the 30 years that I have had the breed this is the first time that it has happened, if I am wrong I am sure someone will tell me!

At the Gundog Society of Wales Championship Show held this week again the breed did not have any CC’s on offer but there was an entry of 11 with 1 being absent for the Judge Ms M Sargent to go over, Best Dog and Best of Breed was Sh Ch Antdela Oleander SHCM owned by Ant Andrews, Reserve Best Dog was Sh Ch /Am Ch Whistlestop’s Elements of Magic owned by Judith Carruthers and Coleen McDaniel Best Bitch was Sh Ch Cuboglach West Coast Lady owned by Martyn Ford, Reserve Best Bitch was Fynder Purple Sage at Leonardston owned by Christine and David Smith and Best Puppy was Malanis Daisy owned by Hannah Cooper.

The entries for the Association Open Show at Tollerton, Nottingham have now closed, the Judge is Mrs Judith Carruthers, we hope that as many of you as possible will come along and support the show.

Bog Dog Blog 3rd October 2011

The IWSA recently held a very successful training day at Clumber Park in Nottinghamshire, it was well attended with members attending from all parts of the UK. The trainers, both of whom work their dogs, were David Rawlinson and Harry Nelson and Sue McCafferty was the examiner for the Good Citizens Awards, congratulations to the eight dogs who gained their Bronze Award. Later in the day, the dogs took part in some light hearted fun classes as well as taking part in a short agility competition. A small raffle was held and one of our members, Mr & Mrs Sowden kindly made some cakes which were also sold with the proceeds going to the Association. A lot of interest was shown by the general public who stopped to watch the proceedings and enquire what breed of dog they were.

I must apologise for the lack of notes recently, we have changed our old Campervan for another old but bigger one so we have been away a lot, making the most of the year before winter arrives.
