Last weekend the Welsh Kennel Club Championship Dog Show took place at Builth Wells, Irish Water Spaniels were
judged by Miss Pat Sutton, she had an entry of 25 of which 7 were absent , the Dog CC and Best Puppy in breed was Antdela
Oleander owned by Ant Andrews, this was Ollie’s 2nd CC, lets hope it does not have to wait long for the all important
3rd one, Bitch CC, was Stanegate Sparks Will Fly (AI) owned and bred by by Judith Carruthers , as this was her 3rd CC
she is now a Show Champion, subject to Kennel Club Confirmation , she was bred by AI her dam being Sh Ch Foulby Fired
Up and her Sire Am/Can Ch Symars Raindancer so congratulation to Judith.
Ollie continues to fly
the flag at Open Shows, yesterday he went to the Wath/West Melton & District Open Show, Irish Water Spaniels did not have
classes but that did not stop him winning Best of Breed and Best Puppy in Breed in AV Gundog under Ernie Lockett
he then went on to be short listed down to the last 6 for Best in Show then went back in the ring to win Best Puppy in Show
the Best in Show judge being Mrs J Crefield who I am told is well know in Lowchens. That was Ollie’s 5th Best
Puppy in Show award.
I would like to thank all of you who have phoned or e-mailed
me after receiving your copy of the Year Book, I had over twenty e-mails from the UK and overseas saying how you
thought the colour photogaphs had enhanced the edition indeed a lot of you said you thought it was the best edition ever,
although my name appears on the book as Editor, to produce a publication takes a team effort, and a lot of time,
and thanks must go to Chris Attwood and Liz Brown for the many hours spent proof-reading, unfortunately some errors, have
occurred , we will continue to try and make the future editions , error free but we are not infallible but amateurs trying
to do a professional job .
