8TH APRIL 2008
The 2007 edition of the Year Book is being proof read at the present time and should be back with the printers shortly, so
I hope to be able to be in a position to post it out to all members by the end of the month, we have had an excellent response
again this year , although unfortunately one article was not ready in time but, I hope to be able to include it in next year’s
edition.
By now you should have received the latest mailing, which includes a newsletter ,details of the Water Picnic to be held in
June ,and membership renewal forms for those of you who have not renewed your membership of the IWSA yet. If you do not
receive your mailing in the next week can you let me know.
Pepi Barrington kindly sent me details of a story from the USA which I think will be of interest to you. A lady called Joy
Campbell lives in Middlesex Township with her seventy seven year old mother Gayle and her IWS called Miahann who is five
years old, recently Joy got up at 4am, checked on her mother then started getting ready for work. Miahann started to bark
loudly and refused to stop when told to do so. Joy then went to her Mother’s room to quieten Miahann and was shocked
to see her mother moaning with her tongue swollen she was falling into a diabetic coma, a lethal condition caused in this
case by a low level of glucouse in the bloodstream, Joy called an ambulance and her mother was fortunately soon returned to
normal , if Miahann had not created such a noise and alerted Joy the outcome to this story could have been very different,
it’s a pity that the Association hasn’t any Unsung Hero awards left as I definitely think Miahann qualifies for
one.
Don is celebrating his 70th Birthday this weekend with a party , then we are going away in the Camper Van next week, so the
next lot of news will be a few days late next week, but please still send your news to me .
