10th June 2008
I had an e-mail from Ant Andrews to let me know that at the recent Boston
& District Show Ollie (Antdela Oleander) won best puppy in AVNSC then went on to win puppy group 2 under Sandra Williams,
well done Ant and Ollie. On Saturday 7th June, Ant Andrews took Ollie (Antdela Oleander to Sutton in Ashfield show
where IWS were judged by Richard Morris, Ollie won best puppy and went on to win the Gundog Puppy Group, again judged
by Richard Morris, he returned the following day to win RBPIS, Ollie has certainly been doing well at all
the shows he has attended.
On Sunday 8th June the weather was lovely for the Water Picnic, the event was held
in Northampton shire, but at a new venue, over twenty cars attended, including one from Holland, various activities were held
including a demonstration by an IWS who works regularly on shoots, then the dogs did some retrieving and had a good swim in
the lake, which they all seemed to thoroughly enjoy. This event seems to have become an important day in the social calendar
of a lot of IWS owners with members travelling from afar as Derbyshire, Oxfordshire and Cheshire.
I had a phone call from Chris Attwood on Wednesday 4th June to let me know that Keith had suffered a heart attack, I have
spoken to Chris today and she is pleased to say that he is now stable and in the Coronary Care Unit at Lincoln County Hospital
but is expecting to be transferred to a hospital in Nottingham, I am sure you will all join me in wishing him a speedy recovery.
I am sure that you will all be pleased to hear that the printers of the Year Book, contacted me today advising that
the books will be delivered to me tomorrow (Wednesday 11th June) so they should be posted to all fully paid up members
by the end of this week. The 2007 edition has taken a lot longer this year hopefully next years will be available to members
a lot earlier, although again this year the book has more pages than before. I hope you will find this edition interesting;
I have tried to make the contents as diverse as possible.phone 01494 783599 or 07780 646143
