CRITERIA for INCLUSION on BREED CLUB JUDGES LIST


A1 List
For Judges who have previously been approved by the Kennel Club to award CCs in Irish Water Spaniels, have completed their first appointment and have the support of the IWSA.


A2 List
a. For Judges who fulfil all of the requirements for the A3 list and who have been assessed in accordance with Kennel Club requirements and accepted by the Kennel Club for inclusion on an A2 list, or who have been approved by the KC through the Grandfathering process to award CCs and have yet to fulfil an appointment.
b. Are supported by the IWSA.


A3 List (Breed Specialists)
a. To have a minimum of seven years judging experience in Irish Water Spaniels.
b. To have judged Irish Water Spaniels at a minimum of 5 Open Shows or Championship Shows without CCs with an adequate geographical spread.
c. To have judged a minimum of 15 classes of Irish Water Spaniels
d. To have judged a minimum of 30 Irish Water Spaniels .
e. To have bred and/or owned a minimum of three IWS when they obtained their first entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book (save in exceptional circumstances).
f. To have attended an Open Field Trial or an Open Gundog Test (GWT) for Retrievers
g. To have completed all of the requirements of the Kennel Club JEP for Level 3 (except Mentoring and, Observation)
h. Are supported by the IWSA.


A3 List (Non-Breed Specialists)
a. Minimum of seven years judging experience in any one breed (to include five
years in Irish Water Spaniels).
b. To have judged Irish Water Spaniels at a minimum of 5 Open Shows or Championship Shows without CCs with an adequate geographical spread.
c. To have judged a minimum of 15 classes of Irish Water Spaniels.
d. To have judged 30 Irish Water Spaniels.
e. To have awarded CCs in at least one other breed.
f. To have bred and/or owned a minimum of three dogs of any breed when they obtained their first entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book (save in exceptional circumstances).
g. To have attended an Open Field Trial or an Open Gundog Test (GWT) for Retrievers if not previously approved to award CCs in another Gundog breed.
h. To have completed all of the requirements of the Kennel Club JEP for Level 3 (except Mentoring and Observation)
i. Are supported by the IWSA


B List (Breed Specialists)
a. To have 5 years experience owning and exhibiting Irish Water Spaniels.
b. To have judged a minimum of 5 classes of Irish Water Spaniels at Open Shows or Championship Shows without CCs.
c. To have judged a minimum of 10 Irish Water Spaniels (This may include those judged at IWSA Assessment Seminar).
d. To have completed all of the requirements of the Kennel Club JEP for Level 2
e. To have attended at least one Irish Water Spaniel Association Breed Specific Seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment.
f. Are supported by the IWSA


B List (Non-Breed Specialists)
a. To have a minimum of 5 years judging experience in any one breed.
b. To have judged a minimum of 5 classes of Irish Water Spaniels at Open Shows or Championship Shows without CCs (save in exceptional circumstances).
c. To have judged a minimum of 10 Irish Water Spaniels (This may include those judged at IWSA Assessment Seminar).
d. To have attended at least one Irish Water Spaniel Association Breed Specific Seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment.
e. To have completed all of the requirements of the Kennel Club JEP for Level 2
f. Are supported by the IWSA


C List (Breed Specialists)
a. For aspiring judges who are able to demonstrate a proven interest in Pedigree Dogs of at least 5 years and who have owned and or shown IWS or are able to demonstrate an active interest in the breed of a minimum of 4 years but who have yet to attend an IWSA Breed Specific Seminar.
b. To have completed all of the requirements of the Kennel Club JEP for Level 1
c. Are supported by the IWSA.


C List (Non-Breed Specialists)
a. For aspiring judges who are able to demonstrate a proven interest in Pedigree Dogs of at least 5 years and been active in another breed for a minimum of 4 years but who have yet to attend an IWSA Breed Specific Seminar.
b. To have completed all of the requirements of the Kennel Club JEP for Level 1
c. Are supported by the IWSA.
