THE IRISH WATER SPANIEL ASSOCIATION - BREED WELFARE & RESCUE SCHEME
The IWSA rescue scheme is here to assist / help any IWS, its owner / breeder whether or not they are members of the IWSA .
The “scheme” operates through the rescue fund, generated from raising funds or, by donations. These funds allow us to assist any IWS coming into the “scheme” whose needs are requiring help. Please note that we make no direct charge for this service and we do not “sell” dogs for the owner.
Great care is taken to match each dog to its new owner. Every dog is different, and dogs vary considerably, as do sometimes the needs of each dog.
IWS are re-homed for a variety of reasons, including (owners) ill-health, death, or divorce. Sometimes dogs are boisterous and the owner cannot cope, others are in a situation with owners who do not understand the breed or their needs.
PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO GET IN TOUCH SHOULD YOU REQUIRE HELP WITH YOUR DOG. WE ARE HERE TO HELP YOU; WE CAN ALSO AT TIMES ASSIST WITH ARRANGING A FOSTER HOME - SHOULD YOU HAVE TO GO IN HOSPITAL FOR EXAMPLE.
Here are some of the dogs we've been able to help find new homes. We were recently able to help "Eddie" - see his story here
If you could offer a permanent home, or would accept an IWS to foster for a while, or help in any way please contact;
